Home – Blog – Social Media: Forget about brand loyalty, reach for the stars instead
February 18, 2015 —
Engagement is getting a rough time of it lately.
Particularly when it comes to brands with all stats and facts suggesting that people don’t interact with brands, never mind want to engage with them or have a long lasting relationship with them.
Shock horror if you’re a marketeer, but no surprise if you’re a human being… and there I was thinking there might be a crossover between the two.
The SlideShare shared below is a recent presentation from Nigel Rahimpour who suggests brands should throw out the text book, forget about driving loyalty and aim for fame when it comes to marketing.
Some key take-outs from the Slideshare include:
- 0.7% – the percentage of Brand Fans interacting with Brand Posts on Facebook
- 0.3% – the percentage of Brand Fans interacting with Brand Posts on Twitter
- The worlds Top 10 searches DO NOT include a single brand
And perhaps the biggest shocker…
- 72% of Pepsi users ALSO buy Coke
