Do you have the courage to play Social Roulette? Do you dare commit social suicide? Could you put the life of your Facebook account in the hands of danger?
The gimmicks people think of these days are just too funny. A Russian Roulette style app called ‘Social Roulette‘ or to what some people refer to as social suicide is a game that has a 1 in 6 chance of deleting your Facebook account.
And not surprisingly Facebook did not like this one bit! Facebook was quick to put a stop to this and block the app claiming it went against their terms & policies. Facebook went on to comment “We take action against apps that violate our platform policies as laid out, in order to maintain a trustworthy experience for our users.” But that’s not enough to stop the makers of Social Roulette who are working hard to get access restored and are hopeful it will be fixed sometime this week.
So what’s the story behind Social Roulette? Well according to their website everyone thinks about deleting their account at some point as our digital culture can get overwhelming, so why not do it in an exciting, suspenseful way! If you are not looking to delete your account, Social Roulette is still a way to get an adrenalin rush at the expense of your social account.
When you play the game it has a 1 in 6 chance to completely remove all your posts, friends, apps, likes, photos, and games before it deactivates your account. Your Facebook identity will be lost (gasp!). Survive the bullet, you do have a 5 in 6 chance that nothing will happen, and it would simply post a message on your timeline for all to see, celebrating your victory!
The game does however have 2 rules:
- You must play with your own account.
- You may only play once a day.
- Don’t talk about Social Roulette (just kidding, I made this one up)
So maybe it’s time for you to play Social Roulette. Go on, I dare you!
