Pinterest is getting serious about mobile.
Today, the social curation and bookmarking platform debuted two new apps – one for Android and one for the iPad, along with a revamp for the iPhone app. These apps will have a new feature – the ability to pin with the device’s camera – which means Pinterest will start becoming a platform for personally-taken photos (and not just inspirational ones).
E-commerce sites are reporting lots of traffic and sales being driven by Pinterest and with the new Android and iPad apps it’s definitely going to skyrocket.
The latest Pinterest stats from Australia ( July 2012):
- Unique Australian Visitors (UAVs) to the site: 620,000 per month
- Average Time on site: 13 minutes. This is more than time spent on Twitter (10 minutes)
